From tomorrow, light rail services between Alinga Street and Sandford Street will resume regular operations, a welcome relief for many. However, the temporary platform arrangements at the city bus interchange will remain until early February, so brace yourself for a bit more inconvenience before things smoothen out.
This week, construction crews have been hard at work installing the new track at the Alinga Street and Northbourne Avenue intersection. It's an intense month-long construction blitz, connecting the existing network with the 1.7-kilometer extension. But this is just the beginning; Stage 2A also involves a range of other projects to upgrade and relocate underground utilities, ensuring a seamless integration of the new infrastructure.
